Seaton is truly geared up for tourism. People spend hours in solitary contemplation fishing along the River Axe estuary, whilst the boatyard and scuba diving school have activities for the more hands-on. The promenade has acted as a focal point for generations of strolling holiday makers.
No documentation of Seaton would be complete without mention of its most popular and indeed one of East Devon's most popular tourist attraction, the Seaton tramway. With some the region's highest levels of sunshine days per year, visitors can enjoy the ride along the estuary, through Colyford and Colyton in the double decker trams. There are a fleet of nine trams, each with their own character. Some trams have open decks that allow you to savour the excitement of the ride with the warm wind in your hair, or if you prefer, you can relax and enjoy the historic ride from the protection of inside. With a station at both Colyford and Colyton, you can always jump off and savour some of the delightful rural towns along the way.
As can be expected in such a thriving and bustling coastal resort, Seaton's shopping is varied and excellent. Additionally, you can while away the hours in the arcades, on the bowling green, indulging in a spot of miniature golf or tennis. Seaton now boasts a holiday camp, within close proximity to the water sports and the town centre.
